Has anyone else seen the new rule from USA Cycling regarding Junior Gear Restrictions???? I think that this rule is absurd. The new rule states that juniors must follow the gear restrictions in all races that they enter whether they are junior events or senior events. I thought rules were created to forge a fair and level playing field???? How is this fair? They are asking junior racers to handicap themselves compared to the other riders that they are racing against. How is this any different than allowing some riders to dope and not others? I encourage everyone to write USA Cycling's CEO and complain about the new rule. Competition should be fair for all involved otherwise there is no point in having rules.
I suggest for RATL that we limit everyone (racing in a field where there is a junior also racing) to a 52x14 gearing to make things fair for all our racers. What do you say?
