Allied Decals on Board!

It is with great pleasure that I announce that Allied Decals will again be the title sponsor of the Summit Freewheelers for 2006! We are very excited by this news...

Allied Decals Racing Team

Please allow me to present to you the Allied Decals Racing Team for 2006!

This year we have expanded the team to include a category 4/5 squad and response has been excellent. These riders have comitted to racing the 2006 season as a team and the Club has structured the race support such that it rewards riders that race together.

We have a very talented group of individuals this year, many that are returning to us from 2005, and many that are new, especially on our new category 4/5 squad.

At least in the beginning of 2006, we will not be fielding a women's or junior team. We hope that as the season progresses, we may be able to develop these squads.

Please join me in welcoming and wishing good luck to our 2006 squads!

RATL Course Warm-up

As you all know, RATL is coming up in 5 weeks and thanks to the efforts of Ted Ingraham we will have the opportunity to ride the RATL course...

Races at the Lake 2006

We are pleased to announce the 2006 Raisin Rack Races at the Lake Series! We expect RATL to be bigger and better than ever this year with help from our new race sponsor, Raisin Rack Natural Foods Market in Canton, and Champion Nutrition. Please support our sponsors! Links to race dates, flyer, RATL race release, and results can be found here.

SFW win at the Race for Alex

Allied Decals Racing Team won both the men's 2–3 and men's 4–5 races at the Race for Alex on June 4! Congratulations to Jimmy MacDonald and Brian Ramsey (the two 1st place riders), and the whole team for their efforts to get these guys on top! Did we mention that ADRT also took 3rd (Noah Gurney) and 4th (Doug Williams) in the 4–5 race as well as 2nd (Ed Delgros) in the masters 40–49 race?

Allied Decals Team

Please welcome two additions to the ADRT roster: Dave Schnieder to our 3/4 squad and John Wyant to our 4/5 squad!

Critically injured cyclist needs support!

Bret Neylon, a middle school history teacher, crashed while racing at the Summer Solstice road race in Wilmington, Ohio. Nylon, 39, suffered a fractured C3 vertebra causing him to lose all feeling from the shoulders down...

Annual Club Picnic

Come one, come all to the "almost" end of the 2006 TOP series and Freewheeler summer picnic immediately following the August 3rd Euro Hill event! See the TOP page for event time and location. The Club will provide hot dogs, buns, condiments, and sodas for club members and their families. All are encouraged to bring a (small) side dish but it is definitely not necessary...just bring yourself and your family to enjoy the joys of summer in company of your cycling cohorts!

Ohio State Time Trial

Thank You: The Summit Freewheelers and our Co-Promoter Team Summa would like to extend a very sincere Thank You to all the volunteers and sponsors that made the 2006 State Time Trial Championships a huge success!

Congratulations

Congratulations to Ed Delgros and Tricia Ingraham for their 4th place podium spot at the US National Championships in the Tandem Road Race! The competition was tough and the course was even tougher! Way to go Ed and Tricia!!

Congratulations also to Tricia Ingraham for her 7th place finish in the women's master 35-39 road race championships! Yeah, Tricia was riding for Team Summa but, hey, she's a club member and we still like her! Great Job Tricia! Tricia's and all the other National Championship results are here.

Cyclocross Practice

Shawn Adams has come up with a new way to spoil your fall hibernation! Yes, it's… Cyclocross practice! This spectrum of the "road" scene has been growing quickly over the last few years and this is the chance for any interested rider to learn the ropes and improve their "cross" skills. He even has a PDFflyer with details.

Weekend Road Race Clinic Last Call

The Summit Freewheelers are proud to present FS Concepts to lead a weekend of riding, discussion, and personal coaching. The weekend is scheduled to include group riding, bike handling drills, road race tactics discussions, training and fitness discussions, and a one on one opportunity for training plan evaluation.

This event will be a fantastic opportunity for riders to gather ideas and put together a training plan for the winter/ spring in addition to gaining riding skills. Please email Denis by Tuesday (10/17/06) to sign up. Indicate which day or days you will attend. And here's a revised PDFClinic Flyer
