Follow-up to previous posting....Jimmy finished the criterium in 18th place. Of the 100 starters only about 32 finished. Jimmy rode a strong race (numerous attacks) and finished on 23 seconds off the winner's time. Great Job!!!!!
Unfortunately for him, the Road Race did not go so well. Jimmy flatted on the second lap, after the wheel change he chased and made contact again with the lead group just as they entered the lower slopes of a long and difficult climb. A lot of effort was made to close the gap and as soon as the climb started Jimmy was still trying to recover from the closing effort and was not able to hold pace. He rode in a chase effort for the next two laps and while on the 4th lap he had another mechanical mishap (chain snapped) and unfortunately this one ended his day and his chances for a decent showing.
I know things didn't end the way that Jimmy had hoped but hopefully he holds his head high and knows that the entire club and racing community are very proud of the season he has been having this year!!!!!
