Fall Challenge - Many Hands Make Light Work

9/26/05 by Becca Blice

Wow, what a day. We certainly did luck out with the weather! 100+ racers showed up from at least 5 states. I couldn't have been happier at the end of the race but it was because I had so much help from people within our club and a few that weren't even members!

First, I would like to thank Denis and Ted for the moral support, logistical reminders, and filling in the blanks where needed.

Next, the huge number of marshalls, registration volunteers, motorcycle support and lead car drivers: Bob Iden, Rob Eggleton, Mike Woods, Steve Drake, Brian Ramsey - who was in charge of marshalls, Peter Henriksen, Matt Carson, Joanne Liolios - who was in charge of registration, Leanne Borzick, Susan Mitchell (a friend of Leanne's and both of whom did double duty at registration and then marshalling!), Joel Cockley - who was in charge of motorcycles, Steve Guldeman, Bruce Taylor (one of my professors), Angelo Catalano - in charge of lead cars, Jim Mullins (who played Angelo's sidekick), Cindy Beal (a friend of Ed Delgros'), and the CFPD and Peninsula PD for their part.

And there were others who did little things here and there: Dave Schneider brought lap cards that I had missed, Phil Esempio for getting me all the race supplies (cones, flags, etc.), and Tricia Ingraham for hanging around and helping out with the race replay on the camera/laptop.

I'm sure I am forgetting people and if I did, I humbly apologize. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have had all of your support.

THANK YOU!!!!
