Held under U.S. Cycling Federation (USCF) Race Permit

Worthy winners will be produced on this challenging circuit that has hosted numerous races over the years, including the 2001/2002 Ohio State Championships. Our course, a scenic 8.3 mile loop which passes through Cuyahoga Valley National Park and is intended to favor the all-around rider, rather than a climbing or sprinting specialist. From the start across from Woodridge High, the course is Quick Rd. – Norton Heights Dr. – Eakins Rd. – W. Steels Corners Rd. – Haas/ Wetmore Rd. – Akron-Peninsula Rd. – Quick Rd.

* Requires a minimum total combined field of 80. If field minimum is not met, prizes will be based on a percentage of total registration fees. Cat 5 & Citizen riders in the top 3 shall receive merchandise in lieu of cash.

** $3 late fee applies on race day. Registration is 8 am – 8:50. The race takes place "rain or shine." There is no postponement date.

Cuyahoga Falls lies just north of Akron. Take SR 8 to Steels Corners Rd. and proceed west for 1½ miles to State Rd. Turn right (north) on State and continue for 0.4 miles, then bear to the left on Quick Rd. (at North Lanes) and proceed for ½ mile to parking/registration at Woodridge Middle School, located at 4451 Quick Rd. (on your right).

All riders are welcome! Rider categories are self-assigned, subject to Chief Referee’s approval. Wearing of CPSC-approved helmet is mandatory at all times you are on your bicycle, and all PDFUSCF racing rules apply. Tandems, recumbents, and aero bars that point forward or up are not permitted (the Scott "Rake" is OK). The course is open to auto traffic, therefore, the centerline rule is in effect at all times, except the last 200 meters of the race, subject to oncoming traffic.

Advance entry must include full payment and completed, signed PDFwaiver/liability release postmarked no later than September 13, which is also the deadline for refunds (e-mail or send SASE for confirmation). After this, entry is in person, on race day, and a $3 surcharge applies to the entry fees above. Make check out to "Summit Freewheelers" and send to Becky Leidy, 2401 Woodpark Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
