Another good indoor training session was held on Saturday Feb. 8th. The session was held at the Cuyahoga Falls FOP Lodge. Thanks to them and especially Steve for arranging the indoor training sessions. This session included a brief presentation by Jim Baldsare (USCF Elite National Champion 2002) on the wobblenaught.com fit system. It appears to be a very scientifically based system that focuses on fitting your bike setup to your skeletal structure. Jim is the midwest rep that performs the measurements needed and then helps set-up the bike and pedal system according to the fit given by wobblenaught. The fee for Jim's services is $100. If you are confident in your abilities to take precise measurements and are a decent bike mechanic you can do the setup yourself. Wobblenaught.com charges $25 for the formula for setup.
The workout found us riding to the CTS (Carmichael's (Lance's personal coach) training tape) Climbing workout. This was my first time riding to this particular tape and I found that it was a very good workout. It will certainly help with climbing if it is done fairly frequently. The workout includes some higher cadence work as well as some low cadence muscle tension work. Good strength builder.
There were also a few new faces at the indoor session. Welcome. We are always looking for new riders and hope that you felt welcome enough to come back.
If this stinking weather keeps up we will try to schedule another indoor session. If the weather breaks we will try to do some team training at the Munroe Falls Park (RATL course). Till then keep the pedals turning and remember to have fun. If it isn't fun you shouldn't be doing it!!!!
