Club Meeting: The Freewheelers will have a meeting NEXT Saturday, November 23rd, 8:00 am at Brugger's Bagels in the valley. We have delayed this meeting so we could complete our sponsor drive. Along with discussing our sponsor situation we will discuss the race program for 2003, the uniform order, our winter training program, and other items. We will also plan our annual banquet, tentatively scheduled for January 2003. We'll ride after the meeting.
Winter Rides: With the first cold weather, plus racers taking a break from the long season, November seems to be one of the least active riding months of the year. I've only been out sporadically on the weekends and for two night rides myself. There is only one way to deal with the cold weather- get used to it! Winter riding can be a blast if you are dressed properly and approach it with the right attitude. Night riding, on the trail or on the road, is a whole different cycling experience. The weekend rides will allow you to maintain that fitness base and you will be strong earlier next season. We hope to get a larger, more regular group riding all this winter. Rides are at 6:00 pm Tuesday/Thursday evenings and 10:00 am on the weekends. All start from Indian Mound (Botzum) Parking lot.
Training: Ok, it is still a little early to get too pumped up, but is time to start thinking about your training plan for next year. We have a number of ideas that could help. If you want to know more about building your plan or you want to discuss some alternatives and hear what the club has in mind, drop me an email and I will include you in any planning.
